Joseph Charter School is looking for a head boys’ basketball coach for the upcoming 2023-2024 basketball season. If interested please contact Jason Crenshaw at 541-432-7311. We are excited and ready for the 2023-2024 school year. Staff is excited to welcome your child(ren) back to school. Big shout out to our summer maintenance and custodial crew who have done a great job of preparing the school and school grounds for our students and staff.
Things to be aware of:
We began the process of replacing the stairs from the main building to the lower parking lot. Unfortunately the stairs are in the fabricating stage and are not in place. We have been told to expect a two to three week installation setback. As a result, we have created a walking path for students to safely walk from the lower parking lot to the main building. The walking path is clearly marked with saw horses, painting on portions, and flagging. We will have adults out at specific locations to assist with the safe walking of our students and staff. We ask that anyone driving up to the school be extra cautious when dropping off, or picking up students throughout the day.
Pre-school students will be greeted with a new playground for their use. The district is currently looking at bids to install a fence around the preschool playground and expect that to be completed well before the snow flies. Pre-school will be operating on the same schedule as Joseph Charter this year. (8-3:30pm) Contact Mrs. McWaters with any questions. Kayla.Harvey@imesd.k12.or.us
K-6th grade students can expect a new playground. The school board approved a playground structure and we are patiently waiting in line for installation. Our hope is the playground will be installed before the snow flies.
Our new H-Vac and Seismic retrofit project is under way. We have a design team, structural engineers, architects, and a CMGC working collaboratively on the project. The goal of the school and team is to not interfere with any learning during the school year. Completion date is the end of August 2024 before the start of the 2024-2025 school year. We are very excited about the project and really feel our district is in good hands.
Safety is at the forefront of all staff and we continue to make upgrades to our buildings and systems. Again this year at 8 am all exterior doors will be locked and the only entrance into the school is the main door by the office. Please remember to sign in and pick up a visitor’s pass when you enter the building.

§ 9th -12th Grade - $3.60
§ Adults - $4.25
§ Seconds - $1.25
§ Milk Only - $0.50

Fall sports for jr. high and high school football, volleyball, and cross country have started, however, it is not too late to join. Please contact our athletic director, Jason Crenshaw at jason.crenshaw@josephcharter.org or 541-432-7311 for more information.
