Hanley Miller
Hanley Miller more know as noodle, has accepted a scholarship to rodeo for Walla Walla Community College as a Warrior. He has bought his PRCA permit to pro rodeo this summer. In the future he plans to continue to raise cattle and horses and work towards making the NFR. He is thankful that he played football his senior year. Thank you to Joseph Charter School, Lance Homan and Jason Gorham for the great job they have done with online school and the opportunities that it has opened up for noodle.

Senior Spotlight 2025 Lachlan Thompson
A veritable whirlwind of creativity and critical thinking, Lachlan Thompson is a phenomenal writer and artist. Singer/songwriter Leonard Cohen once wrote: “There is a crack in everything. That’s how the light gets in.” Lachlan’s light brightens rooms, illuminates Japanese manga, and shines on the emotive corners of her experiences. She looks at the cracks in life and shines a light on them, revealing their beauty and rough edges, internal landscapes, and unique atmospheres. Next year, Lachlan will head to Southern Oregon University to major in film. Her advice: “Be yourself, and don’t let others bring you down.”

Senior Spotlight 2025
Joe Ralston
A veritable encyclopedia of unique words and phrases, Joe Ralston is at once the class clown and standard bearer. With his impeccable sense of timing, he would as fearlessly lead his class into battle with a stalwart cry at his lips as greet strangers with a welcome smile. In a word, Joe is a transition: always changing from one thing to another. But what never changes is Joe’s heart: he’s got one made of gold.

Emergency Response Training in process at Joseph Charter School.
May 7th
1:30pm-2:45pm

JCS Parents: Please check your email for Emergency Drill information.
On Wednesday May 7th, JCS will be conducting a PK-12th grade emergency and evacuation drill beginning at 1:30pm and concluding at approximately 2:45pm. Students will spend time training in the classroom in the event of an emergency and then practice evacuating off campus to the Joseph Community Center for re-unification and attendance verification.
We will be conducting this drill in partnership with local Law Enforcement and the Joseph Fire Department. Once we have safely evacuated campus law enforcement and the fire department will come into our building and conduct their own training exercises to clear the building and check for injured persons. We are very excited to partner with these agencies and prepare our staff and students for emergency situations.
If you have any questions please contact Superintendent Lance Homan or Principal Jason Gorham at 541-432-7311. During the drill if you need to make contact to pick up your student please call Lance Homan at 541-263-1739.

Senior Spotlight 2025
Lucas Goodrich
Like that trusty set of tires with deep tread that can get you there and back again through rough terrain, Lucas Goodrich’s life is one of fellowship. Part Samwise Gamgee, part Aragorn, with a good dose of Gilmli thrown in, this courageous and loyal student is who you want by your side when times are tough, and who you want to share a meal with at all times. Next year Lucas will be leaving the Shire for Oregon Technical Institute with a running scholarship and an eye for forestry. Keep a lookout for this long-ranging ranger spreading good across the land.

Senior Spotlight 2025
Casen Cunningham
Forethought, fire, fearlessness. Unafraid of conflict, but not one to burn bridges, Casen Cunningham is an articulate arguer, a dialogical debater, a laudable listener, and a community service-oriented student who gives back to both her school and civic community in a variety of ways. Next year Casen will be attending the University of Idaho for Agriculture Economics and Pre-Law. Her advice: “Become involved in everything you can and don’t procrastinate!”

Senior Spotlight 2025
Justice Osgood
This hunky lineman is a crusher of both fish and bologna. More likely to find Justice out trying to drown himself in his kayak than nose deep in a book, he found out early that being trapped indoors underneath fluorescent lights is a brutal injustice. Life is meant to be lived outside. Justice has started working for Wallowa Resources as a forest stewardship crew member and will continue focusing on outdoor-oriented work as he finds his way through the peaks and valleys of life. His advice to the younger classmen is to “Live fast and take chances; you never know if the fish are biting unless you go fishing.”

Senior Spotlight 2025
Jayden McNall
A three-hog owner, a steel beast rider, a straight-up road king, nothing revs Jayden McNall’s engine more than an open highway, some sunshine, two tires, and a throttle. With a need for speed, this laid-back varsity football player, wrestler, and track sprinter can go from zero to a hundred under ten seconds. One of his favorite memories from his class was the coast trip from 6th grade. Next year, Jayden plans on going to EOU to pursue a degree in life, liberty, and the pursuit of pavement.

Senior Spotlight 2025
Adeya Moore
With a van, an intuitive plan, and a desire to span the globe, Addie Moore is looking forward to the wide open road after graduation. One of the hardest-working pizza-flippers in the county, Addie’s work hours are only equal to the passion she holds for nurturing youngsters. A mainstay in the primary and preschool, she is a literal legend of love. After Joseph, Addie plans on traveling and spending time in the places that demand time to be spent. Her advice “Don’t take anything too seriously.”

Senior Spotlight 2025
Jett Leavitt
Quiet, quick to smile, and focused, Jett Leavitt embodies the effort and will it takes to wear through pair after pair of running shoes. His devotion to his talent is as swift as the legs that carry him around the track. Behind him, all of the miles he’s run, training his body and mind for depth, speed, and strength, his mind is fleet as his feet: swiftly analytical and nimbly dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge. Jett’s advice: “Once I complete a task, I forget. Like a bipolar goldfish, I will never forget how to change a car’s oil or fix a tire, but I couldn’t tell you what last week’s assignment was.” Next year, he will be heading to the University of Nevada for a year to study mechanical engineering.
